This Indenture made this fourth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty Between Washington R. Melson and Julia Melson his wife and Eleanor Thomas late Eleanor Dorman of Talbot County in the State of Maryland on the one part & Richard Quinton of Somerset County in the State of Maryland of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Washington R. Melson and Julia Melson his wife and Eleanor Thomas for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and fifty six dollars current money of the State of Maryland to them in hand paid before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof we the said Washington R. Melson and Julia Melson his wife & Eleanor Thomas do hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Richard Quinton his heirs and assigns all that part of a tract of land formerly belonged to Uriah Dorman dec'd called Taylor's Addition it being a part of said Tract of land purchased by the said Uriah Dorman of William Huffington and after the decease of the said Uriah Dorman deeded by the heirs at law to the said Washington R. Melson. Butted and bounded as follows Beginning at an ancient marked White Oak on the east side of a branch called Miry Branch it being the bounds of Taylor's Addition and from thence reversing the home line of said Tract which is the fifty second line of said Tract called Taylor's Addition until it intersects with divisional line formerly between Levin Taylor and Eben Taylor and running by and with said divisional line until it intersects the lands of William Taylor and Thomas Darby's lands dec'd and thence running and binding with the said Taylor's and Darby's lands north seventy eight degrees East twenty four perches thence north twenty nine degrees East five perches thence north two degrees East Twenty perches thence north eleven degrees East eight perches thence north forty four degrees East ten perches thence north thirty six deg west eleven perches thence north six degrees East thirteen perches thence north Twenty eight degrees East seven & one half perches thence north twenty four degrees West six perches to a sweet gum standing on the divisional line of the lands of Thomas Darby and Horatio Taylor thence running the northerly and of said divisional line to the Beginning containing twenty four acres of land more or less. Together with all and singular the buildings improvements rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title claim and interest whatsoever of us the said Washington R. Melson and Julia Melson his wife and Eleanor Thomas both at law and in equity of into and out of the said tract or parcel of land and premises hereby bargained and sold or meant mentioned or intended hereby so to be and every part and parcel thereof To have and To hold the aforesaid described tract or parcel of land with their appurtenances unto the said Richard Quinton his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever and the said Washington R. Melson and Julia Melson his wife and Eleanor Thomas for themselves their heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said Richard Quinton his heirs executors administrators and assigns against heirs the said Washington R. Melson and Julia Melson his wife and Eleanor Thomas and their heirs and against all and every person or persons whatever claiming any right title or interest to the same by or under us will hereafter warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness thereof hath hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals the day and year first herein before written.
