Will of Samuel Cooper

February 13, 1788
In the Name of God Amen, I Samell Cuper being thro the Abundant mercy and goodness of God thu weak in body yet of a sound and perfect understanding and memory do constitute this my last Will and Testament.
I give onto my sister James Tulley Wife fifty acres of Land to her and her heairs forever.
I give onto Ester Dishel twenty pounds of my good and chatel at my dess? and all the rest of my goods and and chatels after my just Debts is paid to be equal devided betweent James Tulleys Children in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirteen day of febuary seven thousen seven hundred and eighty eight.

February the 24th day 1788 Then came James Tulley & made Oath upon the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that the within Instrument of writing is the true & whole last Will & Testament of Samuel Cooper late of Somerset County deceased, that hath come to his hands or Possession and that he doth not know of any other.

February the 24th day 1788 Then came John Grumbles & Elijah Phillips two of the subscribing witnesses to the within last Will & Testament of Samuel Cooper late of Somerset County deceased & feverally made Oath upon the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein named sign and seal this Will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will & Testament and at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory & understanding and that they did respectively subscribe their names as Witnesses to the same in the presence & at the request of the Testator & in the presence of each other. And they further ? that they saw Rachel Venables subscribe her name as a Witness to this Will in the presence and at the request of the Testator Samuel Cooper.
