Maryland Somerset County : In the name of God Amen the fifth day of Aprill one Thousand Seven Hundred & three and in ye first year of Eng. ? over Maryland . I Thomas Covington Senr. of Mony in Somerset County & province above being sick & weak in body but of sound & perfect memory, praises be given to Almighty God for ye same, and knowing ye uncertainty of this Life on earth and being desirous to settle things In order do make this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following, that is To say first & principally I commend my sole to Almighty God my Creator ? believing that I shall receive full pardon & remition of all my Sins & be Saved by ye preteous death & merit of my blessed Saviour & redeemer Christ Jesus and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent order (Christian burall) and manner as to my Executors here after named shall think meet & convient and as Touching such Worldly Estate as the Lord in Mercy hath lent me my will and meaning is the same employed & bestowed as hereafter by this my will is appressed and first I do Revoke frustrate & make void all Wills by me formily made and ? & annoynt this to be my Last Will and Testament.
Item, My Will is that my son Samuel Covington shall have all the Land I give on being one hundred & fifty acres more or less called by ye name of Covingtons Purchase.
Item, I give to my sons Isaac, Abraham & Thomas one hundred acres of land ? of that tract of land called Covingtons Choyes ? and being upon Rockawaken River on ye south side of ye N. W. fork in Somerset County.
Item, I give to my son Samuel ye great pewter dish & great house bible Long table & fraim and Iron pott and winsell chare.
Item, I give to my son Abraham ye bed & furniture I lay in my self, and ye new pewter dish.
Item, I give to my son Thomas ye next bed I have with furniture.
Item, I give to my daughter Susanna wife to Daniel Jones one bed & furniture.
Item, I give to my sons Samuel Abraham & Thomas all my cattle equally between them except one cow & calf to my daughter Susanah.
Item, I give to my sons Samuel Abraham & Thomas equally between them all my hoggs.
Item, I give to my Jacob & daughters Sarah & Rachell Twelve pence a piece.
Item, I give to Gabriell Cooper his mothers iron pott, my will is that my son Abraham should have 3 years on this plantation, after my death as
