Will of Ephriam Badley
Somerset Co., Maryland
April 13, 1799
In the name of God amen, the thirteen day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine. I Epheriam Badley of Somerset County and State of Maryland being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament as followeth, to wit,
Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Addah Badley seventy five acres of land called Gladstones Adventure and one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Milley Badley sixty six acres of land which was deeded to me by William Russum and one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath to my brother William Badley fifty acres of land lying in the Delaware State called Bradley's Delight to him and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to my brother John Badley forty five acres of land lying in the Delaware State called Bradley's Delight to him and his heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter in law Betsey Ackworth one hiffer to her and her heirs forever.
Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Mary Badley seventy five acres of land the same which was deeded to me by Levin Gray to her and her heirs forever
And I also leave all the rest of my estate after my just debts and funeral charges be paid to be equally divided between all my children to them and their heirs forever
I also appoint my well beloved wife Mary Badley holy and soley Executor of this my last will and testament. I do hearby revoke and disanull all former will or wills heartofore made or done. In witness whereof I have unto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

November the 8th day 1800. Then came Mary Badley executrix of Ephraim Badley late of Somerset County deceased and made oath on the holy evangels of Almighty God that the within instrument of writing is the true and whole last will and testament of the deceased that hath come to her hands, possession or knowledge and that she doth not know of any other.
