WILL OF SIMEON LEWIS
SUSSEX CO., DELAWARE
March 23, 1787
In the name of God Amen, this Twenteth Third Day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred Eighty and Seven - Simeon Lewis, Bricklaer of the County of Sussex in the Delaware State being in perfect health of body and Sound Disposing mind and memory and baring to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is apointed for all men to Die - Doe make and ordain this my last will and testament in maner and form following - Viz
It is my will and I do Devise all my Just Debts and funeral Charges to be first paid and fully satisfied.
Item I give Devise and bequath unto Mary Lewis the widow of Luke Lewis, Dec'd, the use of one half of the Plantation where on I now Dwell to her as long as She Remains a widow and in Case She marries then to have no part of the Said Land.
Item I give, Devise and bequath unto my Grand Son Simeon Lewis son of Luke Lewis the Land and Plantation where on I now dwell Containing two Hundred acres be the same more or less at the head of timber Nicks tracts upon Conditions he the Simeon Lewis pays to his sister Elizabeth Lewis the Sum of fifty pounds when She arrives to the age of twenty one. The Sum of twenty five pounds and when She arrives to the age of twenty three the other twenty five pounds, then the above Demified Lands and properties to him aforesaid Simeon Lewis his Ears and assigns for Ever.
Item I give and bequath unto my grandson Joseph Spencer son of Jessy Spencer the Sum of thirty Shillings to him his Ears and assigns for Ever.
Item I give and bequath unto my grand Daughter Ann Spencer Daughter of Jessy Spencer the Sum of thirty Shillings to her and her Ears and assigns for Ever.
Item I give and bequath unto my Grand Son Samuel Draper son of Samuel Draper the sum of fifteen pounds to him and his Ears and assigns for Ever
Item I Doe order and Devies that all the Rents and profits that arises from the above said plantation untill my grand son Simeon Lewis comes to the age of twenty one years to be Equally Divied between my two Grand Children Simeon Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis to them and their Ears and assigns for Ever.
And Lastly I do here by assein Constitute and apoint Isaac Beauchamp my hole and sole Executor of this my Last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills here to fore by me made in witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Day and year above written
