WILL OF JOSHUA TAYLOR
SOMERSET CO., MARYLAND
OCTOBER 21 , 1788
In the Name of God Amen The twenty first day of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight I Joshua Taylor of Somerset County and State of Maryland being very sick and low in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament as followeth
Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved son James Taylor all that part of Lands left me by my Father James Taylor to him and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved Daughter Nancy Taylor two cows to her and her heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Sary Taylor all the rest of my moveable Estate after my just Debts and funeral charges are paid with priviledges of my Lands during her Nataral life or Widowhood and likewise I leave my well beloved wife holy excetor of this my last Will and Testament. I do hearby revoke and disnull all former Wills heartofore made or done
In Witness whereof there unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written, signed, sealed, published, pronounced and declared this to be my last Will and Testament

October the 12th day 1789 Then came Sarah Taylor and made oath upon the holy Evangels of Almighty God that the within Instrument of Writing is the true and whole last Will and Testament of Joshua Taylor late of Somerset County deceased, that hath come to her hands or possession and that she doth not know of any other - Before Esme Bayly Regt. WSC
October the 12th day 1789 Then came John Robertson, Isaac Wright and Levin Taylor three of the subscribing Witnesses to the within last Will and Testament of Joshua Taylor late of Somerset County deceased and severally made oath upon the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator within sign and seal
