Will of Abraham Harris Sr.
Sussex County, Delaware
May 19, 1798
In the name of God, Amen I Abraham Harris Senior of Sussex County and State of Delaware being weak in body but of Sound and perfect Mind Memory and Judgment Thanks be given to God for the Same do make this my Last will and Testament In manner and form following
That is to Say
First I do Order that all my just debts and funral Charges be paid and Satisfied by my Executrix hereafter Named as soon as Conveneintley May be after my Decease.
Item - I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Director Harris a of year old and Oned Cow Calf, One yoak of Oxen One half of my Sheep and Seven head of hogs Three feather beds and furniture Two tables one Cobbord One Chist and all my plates and puter my Negro boys service till the age 25 During her natural life
Item - I give unto my Son Abraham Harris the other half of my Sheep Therewith freely to be possessed forever
Item - I give to my son Benton Harris the Sum of five Shillings therewith freely to be possessed forever
Item - I give to to my Son Peter Parker the sum of five Shillings together With the Service of my negro boy after my wifes Decease in Case She Should Die before the said boy come to the age of Twenty five years And One Bed and furniture therewith freely to be possessed forever
Item - I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Mitchel the Sum of five Shillings Therewith freely to be possessed forever.
Item - I give to my Daughter Scarber Jones the Sum of five Shillings Therewith freely to be possessed forever
Item - I give to my granson Benton Marvel my lot of ground joining John Pretymans called persimon tree lot therewith freely to be possessed forever
Item - I give to my Son Peter parker and Daughter Scarber all and Singaly The Legacies I give to my wife after the Decease of her my said Wife there with freely to be possessed forever
Item - I give to my Daughter Prisila Marvel's Children and to Each of Them the Sum of five Shillings therewith freely to be possessed forever And I do Constitute make and Ordain my Said wife Director Harris my Only and Sole Exceutrix of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby utterly make null and void all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made and do Declare this and no other to be my last will and Testament in witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the Ninteenth Day of May One thousand Seven hundred and Ninty Eight- 1798
