Will of Eli Walls Sr.
Sussex County, Delaware
July 03,1839
In the name of God amen I Eli Walls Sen. of Indian River hundred in t County of Sussex and state of Delaware being weak in body but of Sound disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die I therefore Commend my Soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it and my body I Commit to the earth and as touching such worldly estate where with it has pleased God to bless me in this Life
I Give dismiss and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form -
1st I Give unto my wife Lydia Walls the sum of Six Cents togather >sic] with her Lawfull [sic] dower in my free hold estate and no more
2nd I Give and bequeath unto my three sons namely James Walls Eli Walls and Gideon Walls all my Land and all my personal Property of every kind and nature whatsoever but what shall be hereafter mentioned to be equally divided between the said James Eli and Gideon Walls to be Possessed by them and their heirs for ever
3rd I Give unto my Six daughters namely Mary Nancy Lydia Arcada Leah and Sally to each, one Suit of Cloths [sic] worth ten dollars the Clothes shall be bought at any Store where each Shall Choose by my Executors and paid for out of my Personal estate within Six months after my decease and no more -
I do hereby appoint my three Sons viz James Eli and Gideon Walls my whole and sole Executors of this my Last will Revoking and disannulling all former wills by me mad [sic] in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this third day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine
